Early Childhood Updates: Funding and Reauthorization Prospects

The federal budget is always complex, and lately there's been even more to keep track of than usual. But much of our success as advocates depends on us understanding the issues that are pending and knowing about opportunities for action. And no matter what happens, we are going to need strong advocates, like you, to help us communicate clear messages about the importance of early childhood.

Join us on Thursday, December 15 at 2:00 pm Eastern for a conference call, Early Childhood Updates: Funding and Reauthorization Prospects.

Register here.

Between the current FY12 appropriations negotiations, the upcoming release of the President's FY13 budget, the issue of a possible "sequestration" or automatic cuts in early childhood programs in 2013, as well as CCDBG and ESEA reauthorization, there is a lot to keep track of. But we want you to feel prepared to do the best job you can as an advocate. Join us for the conference call to get the details and get your questions answered!

This call will include several expert speakers, including:
  • Helen Blank, Director of Leadership & Public Policy, National Women's Law Center
  • Harriet Dichter, National Director, First Five Years Fund
  • Hannah Matthews, Director, Child Care & Early Education Policy, CLASP
  • Adele Robinson, Deputy Executive Director for Policy & Public Affairs, NAEYC
The conference call is free, but please register in advance to receive call-in details.
