The First Five Years Fund is proud to welcome K. Shiek Pal, Esq as its new Director of Policy and Government Relations. Mr. Pal joins us from the office of the Assistant Superintendent for Early Childhood Education in the District of Columbia where he served as Assistant Attorney General and Counsel. Prior to that, he worked as an attorney for the United States Department of Justice, in private practice, and Teach For America. Mr. Pal’s experience with and commitment to high quality early childhood education will bring a wealth of skills and knowledge to the FFYF team.
Mr. Pal assumed his duties in January 2012 and will lead FFYF’s advocacy and legislative efforts with Congress and the Administration. He will market FFYF at national conferences, in meetings with lawmakers, the media, and federal advocates. He will also work with our Executive Director to lead organizational workgroups and strategy development.
Mr. Pal earned a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard, a J.D. from Boston University and a B.A. in Asian studies and international relations from Trinity College; he is currently working towards an M.A. in Middle Eastern Security Studies from the Georgetown School of Foreign Service.
