Yes, Presidential Candidates Kiss Babies. They Should Also Embrace Early Childhood Education.

There’s a long tradition of candidates kissing babies while on the campaign trail. Today’s presidential candidates would be wise to extend that embrace by making sure each child gets a strong start in life through quality early childhood education.

Two years of polling by the First Five Years Fund found that early childhood education is the number two priority after improving jobs and the economy and one of the few issues with widespread support from Democrats, Republicans and Independents. Most importantly, what makes sense politically also creates better education, health, social and economic outcomes for children and society.
