Mapping Head Start Across States and Districts
Here’s how it works: The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) funds local grantees in all 50 states, the U.S territories, and across Tribal Nations, through competitive grants. Grants go directly to public or private non-profit organizations including community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, and for-profit agencies at the local level. These grantees may operate multiple Head Start programs (sites) at varying locations. There is a Head Start located in every Congressional district.
FFYF’s interactive maps provide detailed data at both the state and congressional district levels, offering valuable insights into the children, families, and communities who depend on Head Start services.
