
Isabella Balian
Isabella Balian joined the First Five Years Fund (FFYF) in 2025 as a Staff Assistant. In this position, Isabella supports the organization’s daily operations, contributes to state partner collaborations, tracks congressional action and national news, and drafts reports to highlight new data.
Before joining FFYF, Isabella interned on Capitol Hill for Democratic Whip Katherine Clark in her Personal and Leadership Offices, where she tracked Floor proceedings, assisted with Whip-led special events, and aided the Member Services and Floor teams. In the Personal Office, she drafted form letters and constituent correspondence and prepared legislative memos on a wide range of issues.
Isabella graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Peace and Justice Studies. She participated in district office internships with the Offices of Senator Ed Markey and Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon. Throughout her internships and undergraduate education, she gained a passionate understanding of public policy and constituent services that has guided her interest in child care and women’s policy.
