Celebrating the Week of the Young Child!

Resource April 15, 2020

This week, the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is celebrating their annual Week of the Young Child. In the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, this week is meant to serve as a reminder that especially in times of crisis young children need safe, nurturing environments that allow them to grow and thrive.

NAEYC encourages everyone in the early learning and care community to host events celebrating young children and their learning throughout the week. Each day has a specific theme: Music Monday, Tasty Tuesday, Working Together Wednesday, Throwback Thursday, Family Friday. These themes are meant both to engage children and showcase the various ways that teachers and families can support the healthy development and learning of young children.

FFYF is excited to join NAEYC in celebrating young children and the teachers, families, and communities that support and believe in them. To learn more about the Week of the Young Child, including event ideas for each day, visit NAEYC’s website.
