Good news from the Hill!  Congress recently passed the FY2026 appropriations package that includes federal funding increases for federal child care and early learning programs.

Help keep momentum for these programs strong by thanking your Members of Congress for their support for these programs!

With affordability top of mind for families, support for federal child care and early learning programs is essential. These investments help parents stay in the workforce, strengthen families, and support healthy child development. This also keeps our economy strong.

Details: The package includes the following spending levels for key programs:

  • $8.831 billion for the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) program, an increase of $85 million;
  • $12.357 billion for Head Start, an increase of $85 million; and
  • $315 million for Preschool Development Grants Birth through Five (PDG B-5).
