FFYF’s Sarah Rittling on Child Care for Working Families Act Introduction

WASHINGTON – Today, Vice Chair Patty Murray (D-WA) and Ranking Member Bobby Scott (D-VA) re-introduced the Child Care for Working Families Act (CCWFA), comprehensive legislation that would address access, affordability, and quality in early learning and care.
FFYF Executive Director Sarah Rittling released the following statement in response:
“The Child Care for Working Families Act would take bold steps towards making child care more affordable and accessible for families across the country. By capping costs for families and investing in the early childhood workforce, this bill supports the needs of children and parents while simultaneously strengthening the early childhood workforce.
“Parents strive to provide the best care and learning for their little ones. As millions of families try to balance the responsibilities of both work and family life, finding quality child care is essential. This legislation recognizes that child care isn’t just an issue for families; it is vital to our economy and our future.
“We’re grateful to Vice Chair Patty Murray (D-WA) and Ranking Member Bobby Scott for their steadfast leadership on this comprehensive legislation. Their commitment to children, working parents, and early educators has successfully brought national focus to the urgent need for real solutions to America’s child care challenges.”
