Share important information on CCDBG with your Member of Congress

Action

Early childhood educators play a critical role in supporting children’s development and enabling parents to work. To ensure young learners can succeed, many use their own Child care is essential, but it can be difficult for families to find and afford, particularly at a time when the cost of raising a child is estimated at more than $300,000 over 18 years. The Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG), with its long history of bipartisan support, is an important part of the solution. CCDBG helps more than a million lower-income families afford the child care they need.

A hallmark of CCDBG is that it offers states flexibility in how they use the funding, which makes the program look a little different in each of the 50 states and D.C. FFYF has new CCDBG fact sheets that highlight the differences and similarities, showing the various ways this essential program helps make child care more affordable for families in every state.

This is information our Members of Congress need to see! Please share your state’s fact sheet with your Members so they have easy access to data showing how this program is vital to strengthening working families, fostering child development, and fueling our economy.
