Abbie Lieberman

Policy Manager

Abbie Lieberman joined the First Five Year Fund as Policy Manager in 2023. In this role, she provides research and analysis on federal early care and education (ECE) policies, monitors the federal ECE landscape, and recommends positions on ECE policy issues. Before coming to FFYF, Abbie worked as a senior policy analyst on the Early & Elementary Education policy team at New America, where she promoted policies and practices to strengthen early learning and care opportunities for children from birth through third grade. She has published numerous research papers and she has written for and her work has been referenced in national outlets and education publications. Prior to New America, Abbie interned on the legislative affairs team at Education Trust and at the U.S. Department of Education, where she worked on the 2013 Race to the Top District competition.

Abbie holds a master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in sociology and political science from the University of California, Davis. Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Abbie now lives in northern Virginia with her husband and two young children.
